ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting, and rather sad, that she is seeking the very thing that she was incapable of being to her (friends.) What gets into kids? Unfortunately, this cruelty is not all that unusual in society. When I was in 6th grade (1963), my best friend announced to the school that she was going to beat me up after school, becuase her new boyfriend (who I couldn't stand) made her jealous by flirting with me, and I wanted nothing to do with the little trouble maker. Sure enough, as I was getting off the bus, she jumped me and tried to beat the crap out of me. I got a few blows in while she had me pinned to the ground, but she was getting the best of me. My sister came to the rescue by hitting her over the head with her Barbie case to get her off me. It is a horrible feeling to have your best friend of 8 yrs turn on you, but hormones at that age are out of control, so it takes strong instilled values taught in the home to guide kids toward having a concience. Those values have gone by the wayside in modern society.

ReplyDeleteMy husband knew Missy, Laura & Karen. He actually dated Laura for a while (his taste has gotten better over the years). He has nothing what wonderful things to say about Missy. She was beautiful, sweet and everyone's friend. Laura & Karen however were a different story. Laura was just looking for the next party and new a guy....somewhat of a follower. Karen was a big loud mouthed witch who didn't care about her daughter and was extremly jealous...especially of Missy. Laura & Karen both hated Missy because she was everything they weren't. She has no remorse. She let Missy's family go on thinking for three years that the killer(s) were someone else. She has no concious. She is exactly where she belongs. Although, I have to admit she did clean herself up pretty good. Prison agrees with her! She is exactly where she belongs.

(She was just barely average as a teen and now she's just a used up broad). I don't know why the picture is on here with her looking as though there isn't a problem in the world, but I'm completely sick of seeing murderers having some form of a life and claiming they're kind and compassionate. If that were so, they would not have murdered in the first place. But this country allows them to be arrogant. It's just a miracle that they're still in prison.

I dont believe in someone taking someonelse's life, that they will be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven but thats my belief. There is alot of evil amongst us, alot some people ignore.(pay attention to your surroundings) This story along with many gives a lesson in a way particularly about being careful who we consider to be our friends and who we trust. It dosnt matter how long you known the person they can easily turn their back on you.

I am very interested in why you did what you did. I have not really chosen a "side" as to if you should, or should not be in prison. ReplyDeleteum,I met Laura in prison. She is a "rare redheaded beauty" and she is working extremely hard on her inner self and growing. That's more than I can say for 98% of female inmates. My sincerest to the victim and families, I did not know them. I have only met Laura. And knowing the person she has grown to be, it is hard to believe she was capable of such a thing. God does forgive killers. It was hard to read comments about someone I know, from ppl who have never met her, or haven't seen her decades.

I posted just a few minutes ago, but wanted to add that when I feel empathy for the families of victims of murder (and I had a good friend whose brother was brutally murdered), I am nauseated that the killers can join pen pal sites and be online and just keep living.
ReplyDeleteThe victims and families often can barely find their way through life after such brutal crimes.
Yet we all pay to let killers with no remorse or conscience to continue to have a life -- courtesy of the U.S.A. It makes me sick to my stomach, and sick at heart. Personally, if I were allowed to run the world (no chance of that happening, though!! LOL), only non-violent offenders or those that have some non-sociopathic excuse (like abused spouses who kill after decades of severe abuse), would be allowed to have any privileges at all.
People who commit this kind of utterly cold-blooded murder would spend the rest of their lives alone in a cell with food pushed through a little slot -- or get the death penalty.
Because let's face it, people, they become "mentors to young women" in jail and act as model prisoners because it allows them to be important in their own minds, and in some cases, like this one, remain in the public eye...the very mentality that leads them to commit horrible crimes in the first place -- they believe they are special somehow and the other person is less important.
So in a weird way, they may have even better lives behind bars than they do on the streets. I don't know this is totally the case, but I DO know that a lot of people prefer living in ways they do for a lot of weird reasons the rest of us don't "get." And this is one thing I can see being reality, based on what I know of psychology and neurobiology (and it was half my double major).
I went to jr high with laura and she made every single day a living hell for me. I didn't do drug or ditch or sleep with boys or drink. I guess that made me an easy target. Every day laura and her group of friends threatened me and made me believe they were going to "beat my ass." I had to walk the halls terrified. I hope she never gets out bec this is what she deserves. I cannot believe that she has changed. That evil is too deep within her. Killing her best friend is only part of the evil she has committed.

I think that if you take a life in such a brutal manor.. the only thing that can make it "even" would be for you to lose your life! I understand accidents happens, and there are cases of accidental or justified homicide.. but in cases like this one.. there is NO justification! What these girls did was pure evil.. it was born out of total jealousy for a girl that was "prettier" than these two.. so they felt the need to get rid of her. I dont wish harm on any human being.. but I do think she should stay in prison for the rest of her natural life. I think she should have gotten death.. for taking a life.. but since she didnt.. she should never see the light of day until she is standing before GOD!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my dearest friends was murdered, her ex husband died from grief after she was murdered. They were still close friends, but divorced. Her death took two good people from our lives, two people who had full lives ahead of them and many friends who miss them every day. Her killer killed himself, but his family had his funeral in the same facility as the victim's funeral, hours apart. I know his family is grieving too but I was so overcome I could not offer them my condolences. I am sorry for his family, I pray for forgiveness for not showing them the proper respect while they were also suffering. Good vs bad, it's not always easy to decide.
