Karen Severson's book: Hope beyond the Fences by Kay Crayne?

Received this tip from an anonymous source that states that Karen Severson has written a book about her life experiences under the name Kay Crayne. The title of the book is called "Hope Beyond The Fences."

I have not confirmed if this is so as I have not received a review copy of the book, but the preview sounds like it could possibly be her.

Anyway, check it out and see what you think. The book is about a woman who served time in prison for the murder of her childhood friend. The book covers her journey from birth to her rebellious teenage years, and finally her transformation to becoming a "vessel used by God" to spread the message about him and Jesus Christ.

You can buy the book here at Amazon

  1. I will NOT be purchasing this book. I do not think that a murderer should be able to receive a profit for murdering someone. :(

    1. Yes, it is Karen. Her father wrote this on his fb page on July 18, 2013. My daughter Karen has a book out that She wrote of Her life , Called Beyond the Fences, that will give hope to people for a change in their life for the better, Loyal

And on August 3, 2013 he states: Kay Crayne(Karen)says if you order Her book thru WestBow She will get 50% verses10 % with the other mail order companys the name of the book Hope beyond the Fences.

As the parent of a murdered child I find this very offensive that a convicted murderer will profit off her crime.

  5. In 1985 one of my dear friends was brutally murdered – it was some time before we found out that she was killed by 3 people we thought were also our friends at the time. Karen Severson, Laura Doyle and Eva Chirumbolo. Over a year ago we all dealt with Karen Severson and Laura Doyle being released from prison, they should have NEVER seen freedom again. – Eva was never jailed or even found to be involved, but those that were there – we know…

Karen Severson (the TRUE author's name – not KAY CRAYNE) has written this book that to shine a positive light onto the murder done by her own hands. My friend Missy Avila's life was ended by this monster as well as two others. They murdered her and left her alone in the woods to die. Heartless and evil, this person moved in with the victim's family, pretending to grieve, and even attempted to assist in solving the murder case. She is nothing but cruel and evil.
Evil has many faces and this is one of them. Every penny used to buy this book should be donated to the memory of Missy Avila, who has family and friends who have missed her dearly for many many years now. This book is intended to do nothing but profit off a murder evilly concocted many years ago.
She claimed to have found the lord – that’s great, but we still loss our friend in the most horrible, evil way we could, The Avila’s still loss their Daughter and their sister.

We are supposed to forgive people and move on – I will never forgive these three and will work with everyone on my friends that knew Missy to get the word out to boycott this book and everything it stands for.

BOYCOTT: KAY CRAYNE Hope beyond the Fences

  8. Karen Severson is a cold blooded killer who killed her "best friend" Michele "Missy" Avila in 1985. She should not be allowed to profit from that murder! I stand with everyone who is boycotting that disgusting book of lies & deceit. She will have to answer to her maker on judgment day!

  9. The Avila family would appreciate it if you would stop promoting this book. Thank you!

    1. I have never in any way promoted Karen's book. I am a news writer and blogger. I write news. Plus, I am the moderator of this blog, not the Avilas.
